"Perfectly reflects the atmosphere and emotions of our wedding day"

Every wedding has a story. But it’s not really about the wedding.

It’s about you lot.

The vows, the speeches, the daft stories, the laughs, the people you’ve not seen in years and the stuff that happens when everyone you care about is in the same room. That’s the good stuff. That’s what I want your film to be about.

I’m not there with a checklist of shots I need to tick off. I’ll take the time to understand what matters to you, then fit around the day rather than making the day fit around me.

Most of the time, that means fading into the background, having the crack with your guests and letting things happen naturally. But I’ll get involved when it helps. A wee prompt here, finding better light there, or suggesting something you were probably going to do anyway. That’s the Plandid bit.

When I’m editing, I’m not just throwing the nicest shots together and sticking some music underneath. I’m looking for the little moments, the voices, the laughs, the nerves and the bits that make it your wedding.

Because years from now, I don’t think you’ll care that we got the perfect shot of the flowers.

You’ll care that you can hear your dad’s speech again. That you can hear your mates absolutely ripping you. That you can see the look on each other’s faces.

That you can remember what it was actually like to be there.

Hi, I'm Calvin!

I'm a Scottish wedding filmmaker based in Stranraer, dad to the two best weans in the world, and partner to someone beautiful and incredibly patient (seriously, the amount of Warhammer she puts up with!).

On a wedding day, I like to arrive early, settle in and get a feel for everything before the excitement really begins. If someone needs a hand with something, I'm always happy to help. Then, for most of the day, I'll simply blend into the background, capturing the moments as they naturally unfold and stepping in with the odd prompt when it helps.

Once the evening gets going, you'll probably find me somewhere near the dance floor. If an early-2000s pop-punk anthem comes on, there's every chance I'll be singing along behind the camera.
